Jeff and Liza are in Spain

Valencia, Barcelona, Mallorca, SPAIN - Jeff has been in Valencia since early May. He is on assignment where he is filming/editing races for the America's Cup. This year, he and Liza celebrate 10 years together, so, they are combining his work assignment with a little special anniversary trip to Barcelona and Mallorca. Liza left New York on June 6 and will be spending 20 days with Jeff. Want to see a cute couple?

Lunch in DC with NH friends

Washington, DC - Yesterday, I had lunch with Ed Butler and Les Schoof (Notchland Inn, Hart's Location, NH), and Ken Schoof (Les' dad from Indiana) at B. Smith's restaurant at Union Station. The dining room has been described as ". . . one of the most beautiful in the United States . . . " and, it truly is! Check out the website: http://www.bsmith.com/restaurant_dc_home.php

We dined on copious amounts of great Southern food - shrimp with grits, fried green tomatoes, chicken and shrimp with corn maque choux, bourbon bread pudding, and, of course, pecan pie! I so enjoyed seeing Ken who I haven't seen since last summer, and, catching up on all the local news (not gossip!) from New Hampshire with Ed and Les.

Afterwards, I drove through the city past areas which hold fond remembrances for me - the NRC where I first met my dear sweet Thomas when he was my boss; George Washington University Hospital where I worked prior to the NRC; the Watergate Complex where Tom and I worked and my friend, MaryAnne and I started a group called "Thursday Night Girls at the Watergate"; the Kennedy Center; and SO MANY monuments that bring back wonderful memories with my children, Kim and Jeff, as they were growing up in this area. I LOVE THIS CITY!!!!

I drove to Kim's and Gene's house in Leesburg, VA, where I got to play YaYa for the night. En route, I traveled through Tom's and my old neighborhood in Great Falls, VA, where we were married and shared many, many wonderful times together. The village of Great Falls remains much the same except the trees are so much taller . . . of course, it has been 10 years! Also, lots of new HUGE houses, or, I should say castles!
