Saturday at Red Elephant Inn

North Conway, NH - After I picked up the plants at the Notchland Inn, visited with Dory Gray, and went to the liquor store for a "scotch" run, I spent the afternoon and night with Tana and Nelson Hall (Red Elephant Inn, http://www.redelephantinn.com/). The Halls (displaced Texans) were my 'back door' neighbors when I owned the Eastman Inn. While Nelson appears to be really quiet and reserved (you've gotta watch those quiet types), Tana is exactly the opposite! And, I'd always wondered how she kept her jewelry so organized. . .well, I could not believe the size of her closets - you could fit a small village in there!!!! She has hangers, containers, drawers, pegs, and you name it, to hold the jewelry!!! She could just open the side door and have a retail space!

I met former guests, Audrey and Chris, at Horsefeathers for cocktails. They were eight and a half months pregnant when they were guests of ours (Tom and me) for the first time. This weekend celebrated their seventh annual visit to the Eastman Inn. They have promised me pictures of them on the porch this year.

Tana and I had dinner at Tuckerman's Tavern after cocktails. Then, home to the inn for a restful night in a beautiful room named "Desert Camel."

Sunday morning, Tana and I had coffee at "0 dark thirty" before I hit the road for a LONG drive home.
